Medici Chair by Konstantin Grcic

The MEDICI chair was designed by Konstantin Grcic for the Italian manufacturer Mattiazzi who are known for combining traditional means of production and the newest digital production technologies. The MEDICI chair is similarly inspired by material, machinery and craftsmanship; as well as planks (tree trunks sliced up)which represent the very beginning of the production process. This low chair has a comfortably reclined posture; its generous dimensions give it an embracing confidence. It can be used as a solitary piece of furniture or put together into small groups.  Available in three woods: American walnut, Douglas fir and thermo treated ash which is most suitable for the outdoors.
