GBlog doesn’t specialize in graphic design, but Memela’s branding for Barbierattoo caught our attention. The redesigned typeface reflects Barbierattoo’s history and status as a mecca for personal style. Based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Barbierattoo is a barbershop and tattoo parlour with an affinity for vintage style. The men’s salon was originally founded in Italy, where it was owned and operated father and son Don Luciano and Tony Barbierato. Luciano then opened a luxury barbershop when the family migrated to Mexico in 1933. Later, after Tony traveled in the USA and began practicing tattoo arts, he returned to Mexico and began working with his father again, bringing his new passion to the fold.
