New from This is Ground, the Mod 2 is a highly customizable edition of their original Mod carryall. The leather case comes with inserts for holding and organizing important little items such as phones, cords, passports, glasses, and EDC pens, to name just a few possibilities. Magnetized to the seamless spine, the inserts are removable yet secure; it takes 21 pounds of force to detach them. Each insert is themed around a particular identity or function, such as Traveler, Priority Bicycle, and Industrial Designer. Users can now readily create their own inserts as well, as This is Ground has made the design “open source” to Mod community members.

The Mod 2 also includes a new wool insert that rolls up and serves as a tablet rest. Like all of the components, this fits inside the smooth leather shell, where it can be zipped in tight. The case and its packaged contents are designed and made in Los Angeles. Find the accessory online from This is Ground for $300. The design comes in bone white, toffee, cognac, cobalt, and black, and each style is sized for a range of Apple, Amazon, Android, and Google products. Shipping starts today.
