Mod Cott by Mell Lawrence Architects

A home built in the lap of luxury does not have to contain the finest marble or a grand staircase. Mod Cott, a sustainable house, basks in the treasures that Mother Nature offers. Designed by Mell Lawrence Architects, Mod Cott capitalizes on the rich views of Lake Buchanan that contrast the austerity of the architecture itself. The home is clad in galvanized metal for a sturdy exterior against the elements; on the other hand, the fourteen solar panels generate enough power for the daily activities within the building. Similarly, rain is naturally harvested through the sloped roof that directs into a cistern. The interiors of the house are met with the theme of simplicity, all the better to yield to embracing the opulence of the surrounding environment.
