Brooklyn-based photographer Sam Polcer celebrates New York bike culture through his online photo series Preferred Mode. Traveling throughout the five boroughs, Polcer captures the diverse ways in which people style their bikes, clothes, and bodies. He collects 200 of the most personality-rich images in New York Bike Style, recently published by Prestel. The paperback focuses on the pictures but also brings in a few written passages, including an interview with artist and cyclist David Byrne, rounding out its inspirational portrait of two-wheeled transportation in the Big Apple.
