Norwegian Rain FW16

Founded in Bergen, the rainiest city in Europe, Norwegian Rain offers stylish outerwear designed to withstand all kinds of weather. The company is based on the Norwegian concept of “dugnad”, which refers to a community spirit and solving a common task via a collaborative effort. At the center of the company stand the two founders: designer and bespoke tailor T-Michael and creative director Alexander Helle. For the FW16 season, the award-winning brand has launched a collection inspired by probably the most famous rainy city in the world, London. The “traditional, vibrant and subversive” side of UK’s capital is translated into hi-tech clothing with a minimalist design and a Scandinavian aesthetic. The collection features outerwear for both men and women, with raincoats, military-style jackets, and aviators boasting gray, olive, tan, navy, and black colors. Even though it’s designed to handle brisk winds and relentless rain, the collection maintains a strong sense of refinement at its core, yet it’s also meant to fit into an urban environment and a rural coastal landscape in equal measure. If you’re planning on infusing some style into your fall/winter wardrobe, check out the lists of stockists on the official website. Images courtesy of Norwegian Rain.
