PET Lighting by Alvaro Catalán de Ocón

Currently on view at the Design Museum in London and the Bard Graduate Center, the PET Lamp Collection is an environmentally-aware lighting series by Spanish industrial designer Alvaro Catalán de Ocón. The entire line is upcycled from plastic bottles which de Ocón collected in Columbia and then hired Bogotá artisans to weave into colorful pendant lamps. The finished designs embody sustainable practices, cultural flair, and refreshing beauty. It’s no wonder that the Design Museum selected the collection for their “Designs of the Year” exhibit.
