Nomad is one of the latest urban gardening designs by Miriam Josi and Stella Lee Prowse of the The Garden Apartment, a studio dually based in New York City and Paris. An herb planter, the design is split into two sections and hangs from anything from a ceiling to a bike’s handlebars. Perfect for an indoor garden, the waterproof envelope is lightweight stylish in contrasting white and orange. What’s the design’s secret? It’s upcycled from boat sails and covers sourced post-production from manufacturers in the Bronx. Nautical yet modern, the breezy design is echoes the look of sailboats one would see gliding across New York’s Hudson River and beyond.
