This “Museum” collection of Playmobil art was created by the French artist Pierre-Adrien Sollier, who specializes in painting beloved childhood toys in the place of human figures. Balancing cartoonish and realist imagery, Sollier’s acrylic paintings give viewers a fresh look at both famous artwork and iconic figurines. The “Museum” series reimagines classical artwork by men such as Leonardo DaVnci and Edward Hopper and portraits of Salvador Dali and Jean Michel Basquiat. The plastic subjects make the portraits seem more playful and the war scenes look especially eery. Check out the collection online at SollierGallery.com.
