The Pocket Chair

A creative and ingenious design.

Designed by Sven Rudolph, co-founder of the Rudolph Schelling Webermann (RSW) product design and consultancy studio, the Pocket Chair offers a fresh take on modern furniture design. Clean lines and a timeless aesthetic provide the perfect foundation for the ingenious build. The modern chair design features four pockets which help the body slide neatly onto the solid wood frame. As a result, the seat sits suspended in mid-air, providing ultimate comfort and adaptability. Made of Italian top-grain aniline leather, both the seat and backrest are washable and durable. This makes the chair ideal for residential interiors and offices as well as commercial spaces such as restaurants, coffee shops, or lounge bars.

The versatile design complements virtually any interior, from more classic to ultra-modern. Whether on its own in a living room or in a cluster of several chairs in a dining room, Pocket Chair creates a focal point but doesn’t overwhelm the décor. Produced by Stockholm-based independent design brand Hem, the chair comes in various colors and frame finishes. These include black or natural leather with oak frames that boast a clear or a black finish. All have a price tag of around $1,700. Photographs© Hem.
