Portland Made, Local Goods Collective

Known as the one of the world’s most environmentally friendly cities, Portland in it’s oceanic feel pushed right up against moving rivers has made an everlasting impression of genuine culture. From an enthusiastic plunge into the craftsmanship of microbreweries to the tender care of many rose gardens, they have made their place on the map with great strides.
Kelly Roy launched ADX in June of 2011 which was a place for Portland’s artists to work amongst industrial machinery. Her movement guided them out of their closet comfort zones to create local goods in this community facility. It was simply a glimpse of what was to transpire as her vision grew bigger to not just a handful that came together physically but now their impressive cooperation has created a multimedia phenomena.

Portland’s niche of artisans are being featured in a collective effort called Portland Made. Coming this March 2013, it’s an exhaustive list of their truly locally made and distributed beer, coffee roasting, fashion, carpentry, metal smithing, woodworking, including leather crafters Tanner Goods and Geoffrey Franklin, the designer behind leather bicycle accessories line Walnut Studios and many others. All branding props goes to Josh Doll’s Band Studio presenting bold, straight forward graphics.
In collaboration with Supportland they have pulled everyone together on a website and gave them all membership cards. The many artist’s companies are brought to light with an extensive profile, weekly interviews, showing all they are about and all they specialize in. According to the founder the website is, “not just an online marketplace, it’s a network resource, an education, and hub where anyone can go where everything is made in Portland.”  What a fantastic force of talent.  So much has been brought to our attention through this organized project as they continue to pave the way for other cities to grab the same standards.
