Public Resonance is a project by UK designer Sam Weller sponsored by Yamaha in conjunction with the Royal College of Art. Inspired by the spontaneity of street performers this portable percussive tool kit which allows its user to directly connect and literally ‘resonate’ with an audience. By utilizing the natural resonance of everyday objects, for example street furniture, existing architecture or even public transport, various vibrations are both created and amplified. An installation was originally showcased during London Design Week 2011 at Chappell Music of Bond Street in Soho, London.
