When it comes to outerwear that is suitable for gray skies and rain, you can’t go wrong with a classic raincoat. The Dutch company Tenue de Nîmes has created a modern version that brings a new level of refinement and elegance to this timeless outerwear item. Article 41 is the result of a collaboration with Hancock VA, a British luxury brand that specializes in ‘vulcanized products’ and producing them in Scotland since 1843. By combining modern design with high quality manufacturing methods, Tenue de Nîmes offers an exquisite apparel product that impresses in more ways than one. Article 41 is an elegant raincoat featuring a black-taupe vulcanized outer, which makes the coat completely waterproof, and a removable quilted interior liner featuring Hancock’s V-quilt design. A concealed placket hides a single row of simple black buttons inscribed with ‘Hancock 1843’, with only one button left visible at the top. Two front pockets and an elasticated jersey trim complete the design. Handmade in Scotland, this limited edition raincoat is available for $870 and you can order it here.
