Ready-made in Design makes everyday objects extraordinary with one use being what they are and the other being, creative art. Max Kuwertz and Yanik Balzers were students in Germany’s Koln International School of Design when the idea began as an Intermediate Project titled ‘Ready-made in Design’. This project stimulated their imaginations so much that they came up with some pretty unique, sometimes comical, but ultimately really cool pieces.
Without too many changes to the ready-made object, they just added a glass piece to some tool boxes and voila, a classy end table. Keeping the design simple yet having some fun with it, they attached two axes together with some boards and slammed it against the wall and sha-bang, a rustic meets modern shelf. These designers are clever leaving us with the challenge to think outside the typical box.
