Rocking Verner

View all 7 Photos

The result of collaboration between Austrian designers Stefanie Richtsfeld and David Schellander, the Rocking Verner is a unique combination of a rocking chair and a Panton chair. Presenting a minimal take on the rodeo look, the chair turns the classic Panton design on its side and rests the seat on longhorn-like rockers. There’s some mystery as to how the chair is supposed to be utilized, but it seems as though it could be straddled or ridden side-saddle. Made of fabric, oiled wood, and coated metal, the sleek, one-of-a-kind design was created for Area GmbH’s “Hoffnungsträger” project and sold at a charity auction in December of 2013.
