American photographer Rodney Smith has brought us a surreal world where he plays admirably with the perspectives and scales with his artwork. He creates worlds whose logic is his own which is old school with a twist. Showing us his world through these amazing photographs that are inspired by a “so British” style and are staged with English humor, he proclaims himself to be a closet optimist, believing that Modernism took a wrong turn at the wrong time. Constantly wrestling with big ideas and references Wittgenstein and Plato as if he had just met them yesterday. Smith graduated from Yale, a perfectionist and workaholic he never uses any special effects and knows the darkroom like the back of his hand, his work is outside of time.
