Recently released by Detroit-based watchmakers Shinola, the Runwell Contrast Chrono ($825) is a bold black and white design with a stopwatch and two subdials. The 41mm case is made of steel and cloaked in black PVD. Framed underneath a sapphire crystal, the dial shines in white and outlines the three-hand movement, date aperture, and chronograph registers in black. Additionally, the hands and indices are painted with Super-LumiNova so they stand out at night. The watch runs on an Argonite 5030 quartz movement, a high-accuracy piece assembled by hand from 83 Swiss-made parts. Brought together by a black leather strap, the stormy design features a playful lightning bolt motif on the dial, crown, and buckle.
