A Sculptural Indoor Greenhouse By Atelier 2+

Modern living spaces always look better if they contain a touch of natural beauty. We previously wrote about the practical Mygdal planter that features an ingenious self-sustaining ecosystem. Likewise, the miniature Greenhouse provides a clever solution to transform a room. It boasts a sculptural appearance to stand out on its own, but also beautifies interiors in a creative way. Designed by Bangkok-based Atelier 2+, a studio that makes products that sit “somewhere between art and design, theoretical and practical,” the greenhouse was ultimately inspired by the co-founders’ stay in Stockholm and by the Swedish approach to natural environments.

Featuring a solid ash frame as well as panes of toughened glass, the design reimagines the outdoor structure as a miniature object for the indoors, with a whimsical effect. Inside, there’s a galvanized metal tray that provides a great opportunity to customize the greenhouse and create a living sculpture. Users can plant smaller plants, from flowers to cacti and succulents to create a mini garden. First introduced at Wallpaper magazine’s Handmade exhibition, the greenhouse made its grand – or miniature? – entrance at the 2017 Stockholm Design Week. Photo credits: Atelier 2+.
