While Chris Riccardo’s sculptures certainly warrant a NSFW (“not safe for work”) disclaimer, the artist bears no qualms in the explicit nature of his work. The abandon with which he approaches the unmentionable, the twisted, and the grotesque is a hallmark that cannot be ignored. Naked figures balanced on a seesaw and a suicidal rendition of Mickey Mouse are only some of the odd representations that Riccardo puts forth. As strange as these oddities are, Riccardo shows the shocked audience the generosity of his patience, as initial repulsion turns into a guilty fascination of sorts.
