Artists search high and low thirsting for a burst of inspiration to let their creativity grow. But, Brooklyn based multidisciplinary artist Shantell Martin doesn’t look elsewhere to find her inspiration; she finds it within herself. Through meditation and drawing, the world of Shantell Martin comes alive. She fuses personal interactions with people and her surroundings to translate what she sees into illustrations of lines, repeating characters and words. Her art lives in many forms as visual projections on walls, marker drawings on skin, or pen or paint illustrations on a canvas. Martin hails from London, has lived in Japan and now travels the world giving conferences on creativity, digital drawing and interactive projection performances. “It’s simple ideas that motivate us, it’s simple ideas that bring us together and it’s simple ideas that connect us.”
