Who are we kidding?, Worapong Manupipatpong seems to ask with his savvy indoor “tree house.” His installation at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center spurns architecture that beats around the bush, providing, instead, what any adult craves: a retreat to childhood’s imagination-fueled spaces. The installation, part of the Politics of Me exhibition, is up through August 2012. In Manupipatpong’s own words, the structure “bring[s] back the memory when we experienced space with our small bodies but large imagination and borderless freedom.” Meant to “relate to adults and children” alike, Manupipatpong’s installation affirms the Peter Pan in Cultural Center visitors.
