When it comes to upgrading the look of outdoor living spaces, design lovers are truly spoiled for choice. Yet barbecues have largely stayed the same over the years. International design studio Frederik Roijé aims to change that with Smokestack. Drawing inspiration from the archetypal shape of a factory chimney, this outdoor fireplace creates a focal point in any space. At the same time, it offers a great balance between form and function. The bold design draws attention with its interpretation of industrial smokestacks, refining their shape while maintaining the iconic silhouette. It’s a sculptural homage not only to the industrial age, but also to the concept of progress.

Crafted in Holland from corten steel, the exterior of the Smokestack fireplace boasts a rusty brown color. While already weather-resistant, this tough material will also corrode over time to form a sustainable protective layer. Ideal as a garden or patio fireplace, Smokestack brings industrial style to outdoor spaces. To expand the functionality of the design, the Dutch brand designed a grill that effectively transforms the fireplace into a barbecue. Made from silver gray stainless steel, the compact grill fits inside the Smokestack fireplace with ease and allows the user to grill anything from vegetables to meat.
