Street Art by HelloMyNameIsSy

Under the alias “HelloMyNameIsSy” a street artist paints geometric and colorful works of art on the urban landscape. In a move to rescue the brick and mortar from dull, drab existence, the artist throws in a touch of cubist, nearly transforming the impromptu paintings into an old-school video game pixel display. In some works, the characteristic beveled bricks of Nintendo Mario introduce a completely disparate world, while other renderings feature a crazy set of bugging eyes and smiling lips. Sy’s creations advocate the presence of art as a possibility in even the most ordinary environments, and challenge others – both spectators and traditional artists alike – to join in the fun.
