Swingers by Cho Neulhae and Jaebeom Jeong

While seesaws might best be suited for the playground, designers Cho Neulhae and Jaebeom Jeong have transposed the seesaw interaction onto a chair for two. Swingers is composed of two wooden chairs facing in opposite directions, but with the backs of each connected in a U-shaped plane. The metal rails at the bottom of the ā€œUā€ enable the entire configuration to tip one way, and then the other, based on the distribution of weight. The interaction between the two sitters is facilitated by the piece of furniture, and is intended to spark conversations between strangers and encourage playfulness between friends.
