“Tales of Auto Elasticity:” Rendered Photographs by Chris LaBrooy

“Tales of Auto Elasticity,” a 3D rendering project, is a 2013 collection of images by the UK-based artist Chris Labrooy. The series plays with retro iconography and reaches toward the impossible, bending vintage trucks into surreal shapes. The vehicles in the pictures seemingly defy gravity, and their bright colors are accented by neon tube lights. Vividly detailed, the images welcome viewers into an alter-world theme park that is all at once bright, imaginative, and abandoned.
