The Broom Chair by Philippe Starck with Emeco

Sweeping up the mess left from discarded plastic and wood, the Broom Chair is a resolution to thrown out waste in creating something strong, simple and beautiful. Philippe Starck designed this chair with manufacturer Emeco through the development of a new composite material that combined reclaimed plastic and discarded wood fiber. This eco-friendly piece of furniture succeeds in how it produces less carbon, less energy and less waste for the environment. Nevertheless, it is a true beauty.

‘Imagine,’ says Philippe Starck, ‘there is a humble guy who takes a humble broom and starts to clean the workshop and with this dust of nothing, with this he makes new magic. That’s why we call it Broom.’
