The Clara House by Ines Cortesao

Can you hear them? The stories of the rural village life of Casto Daire, Portugal echo within the walls of the Clara House. Light highlights the beauty of the gold granite of this building’s stone walls. This two floor home built by Ines Cortesao has wide white doors that lead to a patio. Its white straw tiled roof brings a bright harmony to the home giving it an essential sense of purity. A rich chestnut wood decorates the interior where the first floor has a room with a fireplace that brings warmth and solace during the winter months. Wooden walls separate the living rooms and the bedrooms in a vertical direction and hide the structure that supports the roof, the cabinets and the doors to the bedrooms.
