French designer Adrian Blanc was raised in India, graduated from the University of Art and Design, Switzerland, he grew up watching the local artisans at work. Influenced by the aesthetics of folk furniture, his style is creating simple yet classic folk furniture with a 21st century modern edge. Having studied traditional crafts, notably barrel making, he created the easy to assemble chair. It is made up of four wooden pieces, wedged together and held up by two metallic rings. No glue, screws or nails were used; this creates an interesting mix between traditional objects shaped to answer technical questions.
