The Grass is Certainly Brighter on This Side

Starlight, star bright, what do you wish to see tonight? The growing problem of light pollution limits our ability to see the grand mystery and wonders of outer space. Madrid collective Luzinterruptus hopes to bring awareness to this issue with their amazing installation called “Mutant Weeds.” With their home already being illuminated in an unnatural green glow from the pharmacy signs, they wanted to show how light pollution stops us from seeing the stars at night. They placed fluorescent sticks molded into the blades of grass on sidewalks already bathed in extreme neon lighting to show what could be a not too distant future.
