Designers of studio Joon & Jung came up with “the living light” to express their opinion on the overwhelming amount of separation between people created by the accelerating developments of science and technology. It seems like it’s simple for everyone to lose track of their social life due to the convenience of communication and not interaction. The “Living Light” blossoms into a big flower simultaneously increasing the amount of light as more people gather and converse under it, it encourages people to group together under the same source to get more light. The specifically programmed microchip controls the energy used and brightness of the light according to the presence of people, enabling the light to switch into energy saving mode when there’s nobody around.
