Unlike other designs, the new Bridge Mid, Three Olive Drab Fabrics, Kaptain Sunshine Special Edition sneaker takes inspiration from an unlikely source to bring a new look to modern footwear. The 1970s “Delta Shoe” was used by the US military as non-combat footwear in wet and humid conditions, and it was even used for wading in shallow water. This new model is the result of a creative collaboration between The Hill-Side and Kaptain Sunshine.
A sturdy construction and a practical mid height hint at the original’s functional design, along with the natural, camouflage-inspired olive green and black palette. Laceless for more convenience and for a touch of contemporary style, the sneaker features a velcro strap closure and three types of Olive Drab cotton fabric: ripstop, herringbone twill, and back satin. The black rubber sole has a herringbone pattern and comes with a molded logo added on the heel plate. Sturdy features include a twill tape binding at the tongue, a canvas-backed foxing tape, and a vulcanized construction. Made in Japan using ethical manufacturing processes, the sneaker is handmade and hand sewn in one of the oldest sneaker factories in the world.
