The New R NineT Scrambler is an Instant Classic

For over a century the EICMA motorcycle show held annually in Milan has been a forum for manufacturers to debut new and innovative models, and this years show was no exception. Building off of the R NineT model, BMW unveiled its new R NineT Scrambler, which gives the bike a stylish upgrade in the spirit of a café-racer. Sporting a look that recalls many of the classic off-roaders of the 50s, 60s and 70s, the R NineT Scrambler takes full advantages of the latest technology to squeeze incredible performance out of its 1.17-liter boxer twin engine. Providing 110 horsepower and 85 pound-feet of torque, this ride will take you from the track to the dirt with ease. The Scrambler also features dual sport tires (with a 19-inch front wheel), a purist steel fuel tank, an analog tachometer and an upright riding position to ensure a ride that’s comfortable, powerful and fun. Its sleek geometry reflects BMW’s obsessive search for the perfect contour, with a black and metal palette that brings an incredible cohesion to design. And while it’s hard to think of how to improve on such a well-crafted machine, its minimalist efficiency gives custom builders a wonderful canvas to work on in the years to come.
