The Regattare Vintage Brass from Magrette Timepieces is one classy looking watch. It shines with high quality features like a 21 jewel Miyota automatic movement, a sapphire crystal and a leather strap. It’s an unmistakable treasure of time. But it took one mistake to make it such a wonder. It was originally supposed to be a watch made of CuSn8 bronze. Yet when Magrette did some testing, they found out that the supplier used brass, a metal that’s a mixture of copper and zinc instead of bronze, a metal mixed with copper and tin. They immediately took action by offering customers to exchange cases if they wanted bronze instead. But they didn’t seem to mind since bronze and brass look incredibly similar. However, the metals do change with time; brass becomes a more darker brownish color while bronze becomes a more reddish dark color. Sometimes a little mistake can result in the best of things. The Regattare Vintage Brass is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces and is set at a retail price of $385.
