Sparkling pillows sway and wave through each hour of the day in response to the ever changing tides at the harbor of Le Havre. Thirty Three was created by Nils Völker scheduled to be an exhibition until 1st September 2013 in Caen, France as part of David Dronet’s Festival Normandie Impressionniste, themed around water. After the passing of six hours the tide rises or falls translated by the installation slowing down until it eventually changes direction. A small cooling fan used for computers, a bit of programming and mother natures routine all work together simulating an angelic dance. The stage is set in the Eglise du Vieux St-Sauveur in Caen; also it hosts striking similarities with Claude Monet’s painting “Impression, soleil levant” from 1872 and which gave rise to the name of the Impressionist movement.
