A project by Kiyotoshi Mori and Natsuko Kawamura of the architecture firm MDS, the Naruse House was designed for an irregular plot in Tokyo, Japan. The home rests at the intersection of three suburban streets, where its unusual plan makes economical use of space. Balancing its specific needs with traditional style, the designs has ordinary features such as a gabled roof, square windows, black wooden cladding, and a concrete foundation. Inside, the decor works within a classic palette of white and dark brown so that terraced wooden floor and the built-in dining room table shine.
