Oregon Manifest is hosting the Bike Design Contest so that everyday people can vote to decide the Ultimate Urban Utility Bike. The contestants are five prototype bicycles, each one collaboratively developed by two workshops based in the same city. Representing Chicago is the Blackline by Minimal and Method Bicycle. Merge was made for New York by Pensai and Horse Cycles. Industry and TI Cycles’ Solid champions Portland spirit. Evo by Huge Design and 4130 Cycle Works channels San Francisco. Last but not least, Denny by TEAGUE and Sizemore Bicycle is the ride for Seattle. Each design is packed with features, and the lineup includes smart, modular, and 3D-printed models. While each bike has functions and style to reflect its city of origin, all of the entries are made for commuters who want to save a buck and go across town without stressing the environment.
Check out Oregon Manifest’s website to vote for your favorite. Voting closes August 3 at noon. The winner will be produced by Fuji Bikes and available for sale in 2015.
