Design is craftsmanship made material. For Toronto-based MSDS Studio, the Ware Lamp explores this intersection through their innovative approach to form and space. A one-piece slipcase pottery lamp, it probes the “formal placidity” of stoneware. The minimalist design casts light from it’s curved reflective interior, creating a sense of depth and dimension.
In addition to lighting, MSDS’s work extends to interior and furniture design. Their multi-disciplinarian approach to aesthetics interfaces space with objects, creating a fusion of building and the forms within.
Through adhering to their “abiding principles of good design and the inheritance of craftsmanship,” the Ware Lamp from MSBS illuminates the cross-junction of idea and innovation.
