Wheeldan Randonneur

When cyclists live to ride, they look for the best designs the world can offer. And in the world of bicycles, few things can top a titanium frame bike. The sleekness of its polished silvery finish combined with its incredible lightness and unparalleled handling are only achieved when a designer fully commits him or herself to the art of its craft, so when you do find one who can deliver on this, it’s important to keep an eye on them. This is where builder Daniel Pleikies comes in. Pleikies has been handcrafting titanium frames in Berlin since 2011, and recently unveiled his latest creation; the Wheeldan Randonneur.

Built to ride in the esteemed Paris-Brest-Paris cycling event, the Wheeldan Randonneur has a back-to-basics aesthetic that puts performance before frill in an alluringly minimal design. The frame uses a classic geometry known to be both lightweight (with the whole bike weighing 23 pounds) as well as durable, making it a force to be reckoned with out on the circuit. The bike also features a complete SRAM Force set of parts, along with TRP hydraulic disc brakes, ensuring that every component meets the high watermark set by the captivating titanium frame. As a whole, the bike is a sleek machine capable of top speeds and incredible performance, making the most of its sought-after material. So if you tune into the Paris-Brest-Paris event this coming year, don’t be surprised if you see a silver streak cross the finish line in first place.
