Photographer Stacy Thiot’s quirky Tumblr project, Will It Beard, emphasizes the texture and holding power of facial hair. Using her husband as a model, Thiot embeds a half dozen or more household objects in his beard and snaps a close-up. The props include toothpicks, cocktail umbrellas, crayons, uncooked spaghetti, Dum Dums suckers, straws, razors, lit incense, q-tips, birthday candles, and bow ties. Whimsical, if sometimes a little frightening, the images could be their own chapter in Justin James Muir’s A Book of Beards.
