During particularly tiresome and gloomy days in my college years, I would take to the stairwell of the literature building and let the world flow by me as I sat alone on the windowsill. The recessed cove of a windowsill is a wonderfully private space instantly offered by architectural construct; it is no wonder that Mike and Maaike chooses to take advantage of this feature in the design of Windowseat Lounge. The lounge chair offers the comfort of a foam-padded cushions and the illusion of solitude with its attached frame. The sheer of the faces matches the reclined chair back, another nod towards creating a spatial haven. The swiveling steel base is an additional bonus, one that allows you to change easily the scenery with a turn.
