Lamps don’t have to be emotionless and static objects that just light up a workspace. According to industrial designer Hlynur Atlason, they can be friendly as well! Yorky Lamp, in bubblegum pink, canary yellow, and white, features an anthropomorphic form. Two feet and an inverted conical shape compose the lamp, and also enable it to lie on its side or stand upside-down. The lamp, designed for Artecnica, brings a playfulness that coyly emerges, much like the glow of light through its semi-translucent silicone shell.
