Encouragement. People giving people a positive nugget to hold onto. Let’s face it, we don’t always feel good about ourselves, our success, or lack there of. Sometimes it’s nice to be nice. Sometimes its good to feel loved.
Ten years ago, Matthew Hoffman printed off 100 stickers that read “You Are Beautiful.” He handed them out to friends and colleagues spreading positive vibes that people found to be inspiring, hopeful and infectious. The phrase has popped up all over the place in Chicago with installations on billboards, next to graffiti street art, as official signs fixed to buildings, and as flashy lawn ornaments. His gift of encouragement reminds us to be proud of who we are while experiencing the universal blessing of passing it on.
Now, on the 10th birthday of this beautiful movement over 500,000 stickers have been printed. Many have jumped on the band wagon putting this phrase in circulation as its popularity continues to grow. Through Kickstarter, they aim to create a book in celebration featuring all the many faces of “You Are Beautiful.” Hurry support ends today!
