3sixteen’s Rinsed Kibata Jeans

A rinsed version of the brand’s popular Kibata series.

Launched in 2015, 3sixteen‘s Kibata collection offered something different. As the first shrink-to-fit loomstate fabric in the brand’s collection, Kibata denim featured a low-tension weave with a rough, textured feel. Over time and with use, the fabric became even more beautiful and one-of-a-kind. The series delighted denim aficionados and customers who wanted an alternative to sanforized jeans. After a few months of experimentation, 3sixteen has announced the launch of the Rinsed Kibata jeans. This series takes out the guesswork from the home tub soaking process to ensure optimal results and to also bring the denim to life.

The company avoided adding softeners or additives to the fabric. Instead, the team used a simple cold rinse and line drying process, but with a twist. Thanks to industrial washing machines, 3sixteen can achieve maximum shrinkage, ensuring a sanforized finish. As a result, the Rinsed Kibata jeans fit snugly at first before stretching out with wear for a perfect fit.

The industrial rinsing process also guarantees that customers can safely hem the jeans right out of the box, without having to worry about losing inseam length in future washes. On top of all this, the Rinsed Kibata jeans will get even better with age. Launched in April, 2019, the collection is currently available online and at selected retailers in SL, ST, and CT cuts.
