Versatile and re-configurable, this modular furniture features a Lego-like assembly system.

Modular design has taken the furniture industry by storm, offering a convenient solution to furnish modern living spaces with products that adapt to the needs of the user. However, Canadian furniture brand Aalo takes the modular concept to a whole new level. The Aalo collection makes the most of versatile design while bringing an innovative, DIY aspect to modular furniture. Made of aluminum, the Aalo furniture line features a patent-pending Lego™-style assembly system. This not only ensures that the user can put together different items quickly using a standard hex key, but it also provides an ingenious solution to reconfigure furniture depending on the user’s changing needs.

Minimalist and adaptable, all Aalo furniture fits into contemporary living spaces perfectly. At the same time, the line reinvents furniture for modern lifestyles. It offers a cutting-edge take on the modular concept, providing endless customization possibilities. All Aalo products come with interchangeable parts for more flexibility, including re-use and upgrade options. The line features shelving and racks as well as desks and tables. The aluminum parts come with a tough, powder-coated finish which ensures more durability. The materials are also conveniently suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Apart from focusing on convenience, the brand’s modular furniture collection also puts an emphasis on sustainability. Put more simply, the user can adapt, re-configure, and upgrade each Aalo product hundreds of times. Aalo says goodbye to “disposable furniture” by offering modular products that last forever and can serve multiple functions throughout their life-cycle. The brand aims to launch the Aalo 2.0 collection through Kickstarter, offering discounted rates for all of their new furniture items. Photographs© Aalo.
