Amedei, Tuscany Chocolate At Its Finest

A sweet tale of passion and dedication in a quest to create excellent Tuscany chocolate.

Like all the best success stories, the Amedei story started in the heart of a tight-knit family, with a simple idea. In 1990, Cecilia Tessieri decided to embark on an adventure to create quality Tuscany chocolate. Unsurprisingly, she found unbending support among her Italian family. Naming her new brand Amedei, after the surname of her maternal grandmother, Cecilia Tessieri began exploring her passion for chocolate, with the mission to create an exquisite product. Tessieri made her own pralines in a small, 45-square-meter workshop, but she soon realized that her vision required something more. The right cocoa bean, to produce the finest chocolate.

Over the next few years, the founder divided her time between looking for the perfect cocoa bean plantations throughout the world, and studying in France, Belgium, and Germany to become maitre chocolatier. After buying vintage machinery from Europe while also using modern technology, Tessieri started the process of building the Amedei name. The brand’s first chocolate bars made their debut in 1998. The coveted ‘Golden Bean’ award followed, with the company’s products awarded the prize several times over the years.

Premium ingredients combine with a passion for quality as well as with a dedication to excellence. Apart from being delicious, the chocolate is also gluten free thanks to the use of pure cocoa butter. The brand offers a great selection of products in its online shop. These range from classics like dark and milk chocolate bars, to chocolate with pistachios or peaches. Chocolate lovers can also find products made with cocoa beans sourced from Madagascar, Jamaica, Trinidad, or Ecuador, alongside toasted hazelnut, milk, or white Tuscany chocolate.
