Art Omi Park

Contemporary art and architecture spread across fields and woodland in the Hudson Valley, NY.

Located in Columbia County, NY, only 15 minutes away from Hudson and a 2.5-hour drive from NYC, Art Omi is a must-visit art and architecture park. The non-profit organization believes that artistic expression is a catalyst for change and transcends economic, cultural, and political lines. A haven for creatives around the world, it also offers residency programs to international artists, musicians, writers, and dancers. Indeed, Art Omi aims to create a diverse and open community that asserts the transformative quality of art. Spread across 120 acres in the Hudson Valley, Art Omi brings together sculptures and architectural works in its Sculpture & Architecture Park and 1,500-square-foot gallery.

Free to visit, the park is conveniently open daily. The outdoor space features large-scale works from various contemporary artists and architects. Nestled in woodlands, fields and meadows, the space provides visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves into a creative wonderland. While it has around 60 works on view, the park adds and exchanges them every year. Some of the works encourage visitor interaction, but most of them have a ‘do not touch’ warning in order to protect the sculptures. Families with kids can use the park’s map to easily find the interactive works.

At Art Omi, visitors can see a wide range of sculptures and architectural works. From the kaleidoscopic Prismatic by Hou de Sousa and the tongue-in-cheek Memorial by David Shrigley to the site-specific sculptural installation Omi Pond House by Rob Fischer and Will Ryman’s colorful Pac-Lab or his bronze Sisyphus sculpture, visitors will find plenty of fun as well as thought-provoking treasures here.
