The Asana Collection By Mirjam de Bruijn

A series of minimalist objects designed to improve well-being in workspaces.

Designed with the well-being of office workers in mind, the Asana collection offers an ingenious solution to minimize various health issues found in modern workspaces. Whether working at a classic desk or at a standing workstation, the range of objects provides something for everyone. Designer Mirjam de Bruijn wanted to create a practical collection of medical tools that look minimalist and versatile. “The tools are designed to look inviting and in tune with a modern aesthetic, as opposed to current offerings, which are more like medical aids than something you want to be seen using,” says de Bruijn. Consequently, the products have clean lines and a blue and gold color palette, blending into minimalist workspaces perfectly.

Asana features various designs that suit different requirements. For example, the rounded sticks support the wrists while typing. The twin weights provide a convenient and easy way to stretch the wrist muscles. A large rubber band helps to stretch arm muscles to minimize fatigue and stimulate blood flow. A cushion makes prolonged sitting more comfortable, while the wooden footrests keeps the user alert and also improves posture. The Asana collection made its debut at the Design Academy Eindhoven’s graduate show, as part of the Dutch Design Week 2017 program. Photographs© Mirjam de Bruijn.
