B.A. Apartment By Atelier DATA

Situated near a secular garden in a Lisbon neighborhood that dates back to the ‘30s, but also providing views towards the city’s skyline, the B.A. Apartment represents the ideal urban dwelling. The owners hired Atelier DATA to transform the two-story home into a bright, functional and welcoming home. To accomplish this, the team focused on several crucial points. Optimizing the distribution of the living spaces. Creating a dialogue between different rooms while clearly separating private and socializing areas. Integrating hidden storage spaces to enhance the airy look and feel of the apartment. Enhancing the brightness of the interior by using immaculate white paint for the walls. And last, but not least, bringing nature inside.

In the B.A. Apartment, two features stand out. The first, a long wall that ensures spatial continuity; it comes with panels, and storage areas as well as with integrated equipment. The second, the living room ceiling which boasts vertical beams. Wooden floors add more rustic warmth to the décor, while striking ceramic tiles, modern furniture and artworks give the home a sophisticated, urban character. Photographs © Richard John Seymour.
