Barrow Cabins by Eirik Johnson

Way out there where the air smells fresh, the trees are dense, and cell phones only work as alarm clocks are make shift cabins reconnecting us to nature. Beautiful cabins in Barrow, Alaska are meant to bring “inspiration for your quiet place somewhere.” Eirik Johnson photographs the properties in summer and winter to capture the seasonal extremes in the Arctic Circle. Each structure is a patchwork of scraps, making their finished product completely unpredictable. Call it creative, maybe a tad rustic, definitely “out there” but the freedom in the design and the escape away from it all makes these cabins priceless.
