Bird’s Eye View – Navid Baraty

Brooklyn based photographer Navid Baraty uses imagery to focus on the physical distance created between organisms and their immediate environment. He focuses on a wide range of subjects and creates a narrative of space by using a repetition of forms (pedestrians, fish, vineyards) and arranges them in relation to their surroundings to stunning effect.

Navid has won numerous awards and been exhibited throughout the world. His clients includes National Geographic, CNN, BMW, The Huffington Post, Daily Mail, etc. He was originally an engineer but believes in photography’s universal capacity to make us react, reach people to tell stories and highlight the human condition.

His recent series focuses directly on some spectacular overhead views of New York City. With the distance his camera provides, he explores the scenic possibilities of the city to offer a majestic backdrop for the millions of private moments that compose urban life. Check out the rest of his work on his Behance profile.
